The City of London Sinfonia's education projects see musicians working with young children aged 3-7. These projects reach out to communities that are geographically or economically isolated.

For early years, the Sinfonia provide a tour of Lullaby Concerts that include fun, interactive orchestral performances and workshops. In collaboration with Orchestras Live, 2015 saw the concert tour reach children in Great Cornard, Newmarket, Stowmarket, Lowestoft, and Felixstowe!

You can read more about recent events on the Lullaby Concerts page.

Orchestras Live is a national music charity, bringing orchestral music to under-served areas throughout England. Their mission is to 'inspire, motivate and empower the widest range of people through excellent live orchestral music'.

Orchestras Live are launching a new project Sound Around. This will tour to Lowestoft and Southend-on-Sea, Essex in 2017 to deliver: large-scale school concerts, relaxed family concerts, and a tour of concerts for special schools.

In 2015 the OAE visited Lowestoft as part of their Three Town Tour. They provided a series of workshops in schools and teacher training for those schools taking part. Linked to the orchestra's national Watercycle initiative, the tour was created to help bring cultural activity to places that have little or no access to live classical music. In 2017 the OAE are back with Musical Landscapes.

You can read more about recent projects on the OAE Education page.

Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

RPO Resound

RPO Resound is the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's award-winning community and education programme that delivers orchestral outreach projects in many different settings.

Resident at the Ipswich Regent Theatre, the orchestra frequently visits Suffolk to deliver a wide range of orchestral-inspired activities.

In 2015, an RPO Quintet joined Suffolk County Music Service for a Strings Playing Day. After professional coaching sessions and ensemble workshops, several of the county's young string players were invited to perform at the Ipswich Regent before the RPO's Music of Bond concert.

In 2016, members of the RPO visited six primary schools in Ipswich to deliver orchestral and composition workshops based on Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
