Partnership projects

There are many partnership projects available to Suffolk schools. If your school would like to get involved, please check back for updates as opportunities will be advertised on this website.

BBC Ten Pieces

BBC Ten Pieces is a project for Primary and Secondary, focussing on classical music and creativity. The aim is to open up the world of classical music to children and to encourage them to respond to the music through musical compositions, dance or digital art.

City of London Sinfonia

The City of London Sinfonia's education projects see musicians working with young children aged 3-7. These projects reach out to communities that are geographically or economically isolated.

Orchestras Live

Orchestras Live is a national music charity, bringing orchestral music to under-served areas throughout England. Their mission is to 'inspire, motivate and empower the widest range of people through excellent live orchestral music'.

Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment

In 2015 the OAE visited Lowestoft as part of their Three Town Tour. They provided a series of workshops in schools and teacher training for those schools taking part.

You can read more about recent projects on the OAE Education page.

Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

RPO Resound is the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's award-winning community and education programme that delivers orchestral outreach projects in many different settings.

Resident at the Ipswich Regent Theatre, the orchestra frequently visits Suffolk to deliver a wide range of orchestral-inspired activities.

In 2015, an RPO Quintet joined Suffolk County Music Service for a Strings Playing Day. After professional coaching sessions and ensemble workshops, several of the county's young string players were invited to perform at the Ipswich Regent before the RPO's Music of Bond concert.

In 2016, members of the RPO visited six primary schools in Ipswich to deliver orchestral and composition workshops based on Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.
