Friday Afternoons

Friday Afternoons was launched in 2013 to celebrate the centenary of British composer Benjamin Britten. The aim of the project is to engage children and young people in singing. Where better to start than with Britten's 12 songs, titled Friday Afternoons.

This project is available all across the globe. If you are part of a choir in or outside of school then you can get involved!

All projects can be uploaded and shared on the Friday Afternoons website.

Visit their website to download free resources for any Friday Afternoons project. You will find scores, recordings, videos, and links to each resource on Charanga Musical School.

Big Sing

In November, children and young people from across Suffolk join together at Snape Maltings Concert Hall for a day of singing workshops and performances. Participants get the opportunity to learn a selection of new Friday Afternoons songs, led by professional musicians.

Applications are accepted from all Suffolk state-funded schools (Local Authority Maintained/Free/Academy) and all ages and stages.
